From Altar : You only seek that which is hidden

One of the books that impacted me the most was Tommy Tenney's 'The God Chasers'. Someone gave me that book and messed up all my concepts of God that I had accumulated with good intent over the years.

I would love to meet Tommy face to face and get the event that changed his life that day when God decided to demonstrate His willingness to be amongst us albeit for a brief time. All accounts of that day can be easily searched in Google or be read in his book, so I will avoid verbatim quotes.

The main point here is the hunger and thirst for God that releases His awesome presence here on earth.
When we pray 'Thy kingdom come, thy will be done' are we sure we are ready for it? Every scripture from Genesis to Revelation points to a God who longs to be 'Emmanuel' to us. Yet we are satisfied with living as though He is somewhere far off and walking about our daily lives as though He lives on the next block.

The Greek word Zeteo used in Matt 6:33 by Jesus implies seeking (especially to worship), to desire, to endeavour, seek after. Seeking implies something not yet found, hidden, to be actively sought after. In our daily lives we seek many things including love, peace, money, security, friends, recognition, property, fame, well-being and so on.

Tommy's book pointed out one thing to me: God is actively seeking after us and definetely much more than we are seeking after Him. His is a love story that began long before the garden of Eden and continues to this day. No wonder Yeshua compared the Kingdom to a man who found a treasure in a field!

Moses had seen and experienced God but in Exodus 33 Moses asks God to show him His Glory. Most of us are happy with the anointing, signs and wonders, and gifts. We enjoy the love of God, experience the hand of God and call upon the name of the Lord. So few get to experience being in His manifest Presence, or kabod.

I believe we are at that hour where those who thirst and hunger for righteousness will be filled... by the awesome presence of God, and like Enoch will be no more!(Genesis 5:22-24). It is clear from this scripture that Enoch lived 365 years but it says he walked with God 300 years, then he was no more. What happened for 65 years of His life?

There are some hidden truths in these verses that need digging out! I see some links to Elijah being carried away by the chariot to heaven and yet Elisha with the double portion doesn't get the same heavenly escort! These few lines seem to point to an end time church that will 'walk with God' and be taken up by the Lord. Yes we need to fill up our lamps with oil but the reason must be because of the Bridegroom who longs to dwell in and amongst us.

Like Jacob, let us not rest until the Lord makes our homes, our fellowships, our churches, our outdoor meetings, our workplaces and every nook and cranny a 'habitation for his glory'.

Isaiah 11:9 ....for the earth WILL be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. (emphasis mine)
Seek, and you shall find. Be blessed!!
